Properties of the soil are taken into account from the soil mechanics study for the structural calculation of containment works or marginal protections made of steel sheet pile, as well as the loads that may have an effect on the sheet pile; thereby determining the type and length of the optimum sheet pile for the work in question.

Furthermore the same calculation allows us to know if the sheet pile can work in cantilever or if it is necessary to implement a system of anchorage or underpinning/ shoring that can guarantee the security of the work at all times.

We consider factors of elastic properties, section modulus, moment of inertia, durability and driving capacity for selecting the design and sheet pile section.
